Still maintaining...which I think is better than most people can say coming out of the holidays, so I'll take it and be happy about it, dammit! ;-) I'm also about 10-15 pounds less than I was last year at this time (pre-birthday-ski-trip)...and I feel it in my ski clothes, yay!! :-)
I'm having some concerns about my yoga classes with the primary teacher (and owner) at my new studio. It seems that I have thumb and knee issues after her classes and not so much after the other teachers' classes. I haven't quite figured out why this is because all of the teachers at the new place have similar (although not identical) styles. It makes me really sad and worried but, over the next few weeks when I will be away from the studio for the ski trip, I will be thinking long and hard about what it is about HER classes that do this to me...so I don't have to stop taking them (I love her) but can modify so I don't get hurt. I have some ideas already...
Of course, work pre-vacation is ramping up so I'm very busy this week...isn't that always how it happens? ;-)
Today is DB's birthday. I am thanking the Universe for the great gift that he is to my/the world. Yay!!! Tonight we're having some people over to play music in the new studio (we did that last Saturday night and people stayed until 3:30...later even than on New Year's Eve!), eat pizza and (my homemade, and hopefully good, carrot cake). Those are the foods he wanted, people...and the pizza is SALAD pizza so... ;-)
We leave after work Friday night for our week in Mammoth...I can't wait! PD2 and her family are coming up to stay with us for about 4 days and our 6-year-old granddaughter will be getting on skis for the first time! I know she will do GREAT...she will probably be on the intermediate slopes on the second day...while I'm on the beginner slopes still after 5 years! ;-)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DB...thank you for being born. I love you.

tell DB very happy birthday.
have you tried folded washcloth under your palm to see if that eases pressure on your thumb? Are you also doing counter positions with your hand to reverse the pressure.
I think that is one thing that can get people in trouble with classes - not doing the opposite move. Because of my back, I actually only do the back bend type of positioning as I get the forward motion too much in daily life.
have fun on your trip!
Thanks for the tips, Vickie! I'll try them. :-)
Have a fun and safe ski trip.
It is now Feb! Time for an update!
