They are safe. The interior of their house is covered in ash (not to mention the outside). The kids can't play outside and are off school probably at least through tomorrow. The sunlight even here (far away) is orange. The sunsets are kaleidoscopic...purples and oranges and pinks...all glowing. I can see the Malibu fires from the beach right at my house...they are far away and eerie.Tuesday, October 23, 2007

I had been thinking about you and DB (wherever he was) and his children and everyone else. I've been thinking about Denise and Kit and whoever else is in California.
Keep us posted and take care of yourself too. Thanks for posting. (I read a blog on wordpress where someone said it was weird but it was amazing colors in the sky for photographs.)
