There is a possibility that I will get to do a weight-loss infomercial where I get free food for three months and get to lose weight...cross your fingers! I will have details in a few days...keep checking in as this might be good for some of you who are in SoCal.
I've done really well with my new regime since Friday. I went over to a friend's on Saturday night (this was the one who was maybe going to be on Wednesday) so I had some wine. Not too much. And we had Souplantation for dinner so that was good. Yesterday I did have some sugar (my mom is staying with me because it's her birthday and she's got a real sweet tooth), but I had no alcohol. Same on tap (ha ha) for tonight. We're ordering in Indian and got a low-fat cake.
I made a scrumpdillicious dinner last night -- low fat and so satisfying: Asian fish in a packet. Got it from one of the Moosewood books and adapted it to remove a lot of the oil. It was super yum. I'll make it again. :-)
The rest of the week, I'll be going home each night and walking Doglet and doing pilates on Tuesday and Thursday and NO BOOZE. It helps to write it down. It's like a commitment or something. Truth is, I don't really miss the booze...it's just a matter of getting into the habit of not pouring that first glass every night. I'm a rut kind of person and that's one very bad rut!!!
Friday I have dinner with a friend. Saturday DB comes home! :-)

Boy, I hear you with the wine. I used to have 2 to 3 glasses a night of this cheap "Chillable Red" wine that comes in a huge box for $10.00 (but it taste pretty good)it was the "mommie juice".
There was no moderation for me and this wine. When I stopped several months ago, I experienced a few headaches (just dull ones - not migraine strength)for several days.
Of course, I found something else (started snacking again at night) to fill in for the wine and no weight loss has occurred.
Hang in there.
I'll be thinking good thoughts for you and the informercial.
After I read this post before this - I thought of the Seinfeld with Elaine trying to decide if each guy was "Sponge" worthy. That's what the wine or no wine made me think of. . .
Then after this one, I was picturing you and doglet in your info commercial. Short shorts and high heels. . .
I don't know if you have to watch the salt or not (I do, so I always think of it) but I always wonder what the salt content is with anything pre-packaged.
Good going with the new regime. And keep us posted on the exciting infomercial thing. That sounds fun. Glad you will be posting more. I am trying to take the last 10 or 15 or 20 pounds off, not sure what it will be but I am trying to stick to my resolve and just get it done.
Good going! I hope you get to do the weight loss thing. How exciting! And I know you'll be glad when DB comes home. (And it just occurred to me that you are definitely enjoying taking the Doglet for walks now that you got rid of the Frankentoe.)
Assuming that the salt and the fat or whatever else you have to be care of - are in line - does this feel like a vacation to you? I think that it would to me. To me it sounds like three months of not having to THINK so much. To be able to let someone else do the thinking and the food just arrives - right stuff - right quantities - little or no preparation. A bit like having a chef on call. I hope this works out for you.
I am still picturing your California Info photo shoots. I always love those pictures - you would have a blast (be sure to get doglet in too).
